This week on D&D...ghouls!

We make our way further into the base with Vandal leading the way with Luna casting 'Light' to guide our path. We come to a large hole in the cavern covered by huge rotting beams which Mushu made quick work of with her flame breath. Aralon heads in first seeing the huge archways holding up the ceiling. We are surrounded by signs of a long gone battle between orcs and humans for the supremacy of the riches of the mine.

Mushu has made a fire as the team take their rest. The ceremonial bowl begins to shake and Agrippina begins to summon Luna. Luna awakens in her demi plane, called to by her guardian angel. She is able to grant her visions of the future. Luna dreams of scales, they are unbalanced and she is told that she will meet someone soon who shares similar goals - footprints in the snow with three toes. Luna then appears before the group and introduces herself to our new member Mushu - it appears they are searching for the same group...

The group study Sir Egar Allen Pig as he doesn't seem too happy and some what aggressive. Vandal senses that he is hungry and gives him some food. We offer him the chance to go his own way but he decides to tag along with us in the hopes of meeting his family who he was taken from.

We are surrounded by signs of a long gone battle between orcs and humans for the supremacy of the riches of the mine. As we make our way forward we are faced with two sets of doors. Large ornate imposing ones on the right of the cavern, ordained with two stone statues. On the left a smaller set of doors. The smaller doors depict how the mine was founded, an alliance formed by humans, gnomes and others, the forge of souls is depicted which was used to forge magical weapons. We investigate the large set of doors, Vorn scales the two statues and finds to pieces of stone which make up a key. Vorn climb down and give the key to Gundrun to hold. As he does this, the heads of the statues turn and regard us, expressionless and they crash down of their pedestals, catching us all off guard.

Vandal jumps in straight way with his axe managing to take a chip out of one of the stone statues. Aralon summons Death to help us out but Death seems to be having an off day, not managing to hit them at all. Many of the group stay back, trying to attack them from afar. Agrippiana and Lukas notice the rest of the group and the statues seem to be battling in slow motion, except for Aralon who is able to fight of whatever is causing this. Thraback and Mushu, despite doing incredible damage to the statues are both knocked in conscious by them... Mushu and Luna had managed to make the final blows on the two pests. Before her is an ornate dwarven chest where she finds gold and silver. Some of the group take a short rest to recover. Vandal finds two hidden rooms where the statues had stood, one seemed to be an old guard room and the other seemed like a past storeroom or office. On a large stone tablet there are three sets of scales, with one unbalanced with a piece of iron. Luna recognises these scales from her vision. We are able to find weights in the room and Luna is able to balance the scale. As she does this a click can be heard and a door opens in front of us. Before her is an ornate dwarven chest where she finds gold and silver. As we are searching, Gundrun is growing impatient for us to join him back at the doors. We return to him and he inserts the key into the huge stone doors unlocking the mechanism which swings the door open. We are beset by a foul smell and darkness. Luna shines her light through the doorway and we see more crawling emaciated ghoul like the ones we had previously met. The group decides not to fight them and instead tells them about the previous ghouls we ha defeated, they will be a sources of food to them. In turn they give us some information and they pass us by without a scrap, allowing us to venture in further. We come to a flight of stairs with a door at the top and two tunnels which seem to be dead ends. Mushu lights the way and Vandal checks that there is no other way out. They gather some mushrooms from the wall and feed them to Sir Edgar, after they have checked them for poisons of course! Aralon again open the door and Mushu is able to finish of the remaining beasts with her flame breath. We stand before the dark entrance ready to enter.... they give us some information and they pass us by without a scrap, allowing us to venture in further. We come to a flight of stairs with a door at the top and two tunnels which seem to be dead ends. Mushu lights the way an Vandal check that there is no other way out. They gather some mushrooms from the wall and feed them to Sir Edgar, after they are checking them for poisons of course!
