The group awakens from their nights rest in the camp of the Levithian Tribe. We notice the moons in the sky are aligned and the celestial bowl and tears that Agrippiana is carrying start to glow. Agrippiana performs the ritual which summons Luna our azamar companion. Most of the group are happy at her return, excluding Thraback. 12 Trees provides us all with furs and although he wishes Agrippiana would not leave, he is confident she will return when her task is finished. The group makes their way up the frozen mountain, to the Dwarven outpost, Anvil, with our own dwarf Vandal leading the way and keeping us to the right of the path, on the advice of 12 Trees. We come upon a set of large doors embellished with dwarven runes done by the Hill Dwarves. Vandal tells us that this was built to honour Thorin, the deity of the Hill Dwarves. With the key which we retrieved from Zathool the hag, Vandal is able to find the lock and successfully open the doors. We find a very dark and very cold entrance. Luna is able to cast a spell of light, illuminating the great entrance hall. The walls are coated in ice and it appears this area was the sight of an intense battle long ago. We come upon the bones and amour of hill dwarves and orcs. The two clerics take a moment to pray for the souls of those fallen. Vorn finds a room which appeared to be the sleeping quarters of the dwarves. He comes across a journal and Vandal is able to read it to us. It is a series of reports of one of the dwarven guards. Towards the end of the journal the dwarf talks about the attack, the drums and howling of the orcs as they broke in. How they managed to hold it for a while but it seems they were ultimately outnumbered as the entry ends abruptly. Vandal keeps the journal. We move further into the large corridor and find another set of large doors. Aralon with his magic is able to read the runes and we learn this is the mess hall. We arrive into a war torn room with broken and rotting furniture with a large tapestry, a fireplace and a large displaced statue. Vandal and Thraback explain that the tapestry depicts Thorin and Moradin with a dwarf in-between on his knees venerating them. The statue on the ground, slightly damaged seems to be of Thorin as well. Suddenly we hear the sounds of cracking above us and assume the ice will crush us all. We are set upon by numerous Ice Mephits who circle above us with their icy wings and mocking laughter. A thick fog surrounds us making it difficult to see, but Lucas with his tempest spells is quickly able to disperse this. Our magic wielders us their fire attacks to their advantage, allowing them to melt many of the creatures. Lucas recognises that the arrival of the creatures may be connected to the desecration of the statue and attempts to return it to its original place. The Ice Mephits claw into him and he falls unconscious. Aralon and Agrippiana move to him quickly to stabilise and heal him. Luna is able to lift the statue onto its pedestal and we hear a large bang as we defeat the last of the ice creatures. We recognise that the noise came from behind the tapestry. We come across three leavers. Dante, Vandal and Luna choose a leaver each and push them up and down. It appears there is a particular mechanism that we need to achieve, and a poisonous gas seeps out. The group then realises that the tapestry provides us with a clue. The two deities standing on either side of the dwarf kneeling down in the middle. We use the leavers to match this image and a secret passage appears below us with an intense heat coming from it. We come across a strange and bloody shrine which seems to be of Troglodyte origin. Vorn is able to recognise this and tell us of the lizard like creatures. Luna and Thraback recognise that the wall behind the shrine is hollow and with their strength manage to push the wall back to reveal a secret passage way underneath. It is quite deep with a steep gradient. Vorn makes his way down easily and finds himself close to lava and faced with intense heat. Aralon also makes his way down, with the rest of the group staying up at the entrance watching the activity below. Vorn makes his way to the right were there is an archway and finds and area full of claw marks and nests filled with small eggs. Aralon does not notice the six Troglodytes who had managed to camouflage themselves and they set upon him. The group above use their best attempts at ranged attacks to help the two below, thought with not much room to manoeuvre, poor Dante gets pushed out of the way by most of the group. Vorn, still near the eggs lifts a handful of them and makes it clear to the creatures that he will destroy them if they come closer to him. Meanwhile Aralon is able to defend himself with his burning hands ability. The two begin to back out of the passageway, the Troglodytes clearly understanding what Vorn means. The debate of whether to kill the rest of the creatures but ultimately leave them as the creatures begin to block up the entrance in order to protect their eggs. The two manage to climb back up and we make our way forward to the exit, the intense heat replaced with bitter cold and quickly replaced furs. It is then we hear a voice calling "Who is there?" and yet only Vandal, Thraback, Luna and Agrippiana can hear it... Until next week!!!
