The Ball! Part 3!

Vandal is able to tell the group of the creature lurking below them, an Otyugh. A foul creature that loves nothing more than to write in filth. The group move on from the drop and can hear the sounds of panic and the crackling of a fire. They pick up their speed as it appears they are getting closer to the exit. Vorn and Vandal move to the front noticing the way out leading to the lake, but it is blocked by large rocks. They can smell the smoke and hear the panic rising outside. The party begin to move the rocks out of their way when we hear a sludging noise from behind us and the words – “Dinner time…” The creature was able to follow the group and finds Agrippiana and Anakis right in its path. It beings to attack the two by swinging its tentacles at them and gnashing at them with its teeth. They do their best to hold it off while the group unblock the exit. It manages to grab Agrippiana with a tentacle crashing her into the wall of the sewer, almost finishing her off. Only for the quick attacks of Thraback and Vandal – who deals the final blow to the creature, having healed Agrippiana during the fight, keeping her from death. … Adus sends his raven in an attempt to retrieve his items, but when the creature does not reappear, he is forced to sneak inside himself. With the fire blazing on the pier, he is able to use this to his advantage, grabbing his stuff and leaving the enclave. As he passes by, Human Cost has a wry smile on his face… … The group manage to clear the rocks away and they make their way out on to the pier, seeing Άdus running to meet them. The party are greeted with pandemonium on the pier. People running to and fro, the flames bursting and ripping out of The Moody Boar. It crumbles and collapses before their eyes and all they can do is look on.

Besides the group, people are discussing the inn and what has been done to Regius and his daughter… The group demand to know what has happened and they are led to a side alley close to where the inn barely stands. Lying in the alley are the mutilated bodies of Regius and Alannah.

They have been subjected to a cruel ritual. Likely the work of the Cult of the Dragon… Their ribs severed from their spines, pulled right through to make macabre wings, the blood dropping slowly. Salt can be seen in their wounds. The group look on in horror with no words passing any of their lips as the fire dances about them.

Suddenly a figure appears in the flame, it is Janos who urges us to come with him quickly. The group notice on their departure, the mark of an elongated human footprint in the ash and that the Gith’s ship is now gone…
