Thrabak's return: Part 2, The werewolves

While the group is sleeping, Vorn, as usual, is sneaking about the city. He hears cries and screaming coming from outside the city and stealths his way down to the city gates where he hears two guards conversing. Howls erupt and echo from outside the city, lanterns begin to be lit as the inhabitants of the city are woken up b the commotion. Vandal is the first up of our adventurers and rallies the group without a word, acting almost on instinct. Regius ambles down the stairs, “Ah it must be the Berovians!” Vandal is able to sense 15 werewolves in town. Vandal tells the guard to lockdown the city, warning them. The guards let us out, locking the gate behind us.

As the group make their way to the camp they see a pattern in the ground of silver coins, reminding them of a ward of some kind. Yet this one appears to be broken. They replace it with more silver coins but appears that the magic ward has been severed. As the group came to the amp, they are greeted with chaos. Women and children screaming, bodies were strewn across the camp with libs missing, blood and fire and the sight of werewolves baring their teeth and ripping apart the camp.

Agrippiana spots a cluster of women and children surrounded by silver coins, being tormented by two werewolves. One of them growls at them saying, “You are wise to use silver, but we can wait. The ones who let us in will let us finish this.” They have not noticed us at this stage and Vandal gears up with Agrippiana ready to stand in front of the civilians. Vanda readies his axe, dashing towards the two creatures, dealing them both deadly blows with his axe, taking them by surprise, knocking one to the ground.

As we do this a larger werewolf appears on top of one of the caravans and growls at the group, “I see we have some visitors, all the better…” This larger werewolf is caked in blood bearing his fangs at us dragging a bloodied and battered corpse with him. Thraback beats his chest, sizing him up for a fight, jumping on to the top of the caravan, instantly dealing two heavy blows with his axe.

The likens forms themselves into a crescent formation and begin to close in on the group. Vandal, Agrippiana, Thraback and Lukas manage to be bitten during the fray, but appear to have fought off the effects…. Arnor moves to help Agrippiana defend the innocents, making use of his maul. The names engraved on it illuminate as he takes down the liken in front of them. Lukas, seeing that they are being surrounded, uses his Thunderwave and manages to knock 3 werewolves into the air and out of the formation. Luna uses her radiant damage with her greatsword burning the flesh of the werewolves she attacks.
